Please remember that I am an African wildlife photographer and not a tour or ground operator. However my extensive experience in these regions enables me to advise you on the best tour and ground operators - those who live in the area, who will take care of you best and for the best prices.
Safaris are very expensive! This is why I recommend directly contacting local tour operators who live on site in Africa; they alone know the tours really well (they are at home).
The best option
Using my advice you choose a local tour operator, a professional (who speak and write English) who lives on site in Africa, a member of the association that monitors tours operators , i.e. TATO (Tanzania association of tour operators) for Tanzania and KATO (Kenya association of tour operators) for Kenya. These agencies that I recommend have vast safari experience, climbed Kilimanjaro, Masai etc. - sometimes for 30 years. Feel free to ask me about my ground operators !Tanzania may have built an international travel reputation, with safaris and beach holidays
Tanzania's coastline is 1424 km long. About 20 to 25km from Dar es Salaam: north of the city, there are good beaches at Kunduchi and Mbezi, which are both
accessed off the road to Bagamoyo. Here there are a string of resorts that offer day access to visitors to the beach; some offer diving or windsurfing, as well as entertainment on the weekends.
Tanzania's coastline is 1424 km long. Hundreds of islands, tiny romantic bays, peninsulas, exposed capes and an almost untouched nature, together with the most interesting landscape, flora
and fauna of this part of the world, makes everyone find his own heaven on earth. With 3580 km² the country has the biggest coral reef in East Africa.

Pangani beach Tanzania
Tanzania may have built an international travel reputation, with safaris and beach holidays
Tanzania, with Zanzibar Archipelago has some of Africa's best beaches: gorgeous, long stretches of fine white sand fringed by palm trees. You'll find a wide variety of hotels and lodges: something
to suit everyone from luxurious, all-inclusive resorts to 'barefoot luxury' private islands and simple, inexpensive beach retreats. The nearby Mafia Archipelago doesn't have the same long stretches of squeaky white sand, but
it is generally much quieter. Here a few tiny, intimate lodges offer a more personal feel and marvellous value. Staying here you can spend days on deserted sandbars, surrounded only by shallow coral seas; Mafia is very
special indeed.
Tanzania may have built its international travel reputation around its fabulous national parks but don't forget that it has over 800 kilometres of gleaming coastline. Located almost centrally on
Tanzania's coast is sprawling, bustling Dar es Salaam, perhaps not an obvious choice for a beach holiday. However, there are great beach hotels and resorts within a 2-hour drive of this historical and culture-packed
city - we'd particularly recommend Ras Kutani, 35km south of Dar es Salaam. For something completely different, the Saadani National Park is tucked away in a wild area of coastal forest and grassland some 150km north
of Dar es Salaam and is bursting with wildlife. Treat yourself to unique sightings of elephants strolling along the beach at this little-known slice of paradise - it's the perfect off-the-beaten-track destination for
adventurers and honeymooners.
