Above all do not panic or be afraid, but just take precautions!
To
pay your safari in Kenya or Tanzania, check first whether the Safari Company
is a
KATO or TATO registered Company. KATO, Kenya Association of Tour Operators
and TATO
equivalent organization in Tanzania, are upholding the integrity of the local
Ground Operators
and work in connection with the Ministry of tourism in both Countries. KATO
& TATO
permanently check:
* if the Company is licensed
* if the Company is properly insured
* if the Guides are qualified
* if there are no complaints from the Customers
( in this case they do an investigation )
Reliable Companies will normaly not ask for a deposit long time in advance
( except in
several cases when some very expensive lodges like CCA are asking for a deposit
to confirm
the bookings ) Payment by TT Swift ( telegraphic transfer ) from bank to bank.
You'll have to pay some bank charges for the transfer.
If you follow my instructions and deal with the Operators and Safari
Companies I trust
you would not come across any problem. They are all KATO and/or TATO Members.

Changuu island
Des tortues centenaires sur une petite île
qui s'appelle
Changuu island (signifie prison) en face de Zanzibar
à 1/2 heure de bateau, cette île servait de
stockage avant leur vente d'esclaves en
provenance de Bagamoyo.
Il y a sur cette île de si belles plages de sable blanc
et si peu de personnes, que c'est un vrai paradis !!
